Welcome! This is a website that everyone can build together. It's easy!
ALSB (Assembly Line ScrapBooking)
If you haven't tried this yet, you should. Not everyone thinks it's the best way to scrapbook but it can help you get a lot of pictures into your books and use your beatiful CS stash!
A good place to start is Club Scrap'sexplanation of ALSB. While there, you can click the links and see layouts as they were printed in Club Scrap's fabulous Scrap Raps. Club Scrap members can get free downloads of the instructions that include step-by-step instructions. (You'll need the code from your Scrap Rap.)
Helpful Tips and Hints!
After you've done some research and seen how very cool ALSB can be and maybe even made a few LOs, what's next? Here are some member tips on how to put those finished ALSB LOs to work for you.
Storage
There are a variety of options for you to store your LOs while you hunt for pictures.
A few ideas to get you started - you can put them in:
(Moderator note: If someone would like to contribute pics here, that would be good! Send me a message if you'd like help.)
Not sure if you like a design, try rotating it!
From Beth on the Yahoo! Club Scrap Chat group:
A word of advise, don't let the "photo mats" limit you when you're looking for pictures.
You can cut pictures down and put more than one on each mat.
You can use one larger picture and spread it across two mats.
You can always add a smaller, cropped down photo or photos into some of the blank spaces on the page... they don't have to be limited to the mats.
You can add a stamped image, some patterned paper, embellishments and/or journalling to an extra mat if you don't need as many as there are on the pages.
Just because a photo mat is vertically placed doesn't mean your pictures have to be. A lot of us have "horizontalitis" and take pictures all one way. If this is the case, crop the pictures down to fit the width of the mat and then add a ribbon, paper strips, journalling or other embellishments in the blank part of the mat to fill in the excess space above and/or below the photo.
Just because you have 4-6 photo mats doesn't mean you have to have that exact # of photos! Once I got past this hang up in my head, it made the process so much easier. Now, I can just look for good colors and themes and I can pretty much make any number of photos I have worth with whatever number of mats there are on the pages.
I hope this helps you! Have fun with it!
