Resizing Attachments
A lot of our Yahoo! list members are on dial-up so it's important to reduce the file size of attachments before e-mailing our artwork and projects to the group.
OK - here goes with the notes for file sizes.
Firstly, when you scan your image or upload it from your digital camera take a look at what size the file actually is and make a note of it.
Next, when you get ready to save it, the save as dialog box will ask you for a name and hopefully will ask you how many pixels per inch. The internet works best at 72 pixels per inch which does not affect the resolution of your image - just makes the file size a lot smaller. Once you have done that take another look at what size the image is by right-clicking it and going to properties. That should tell you that you have saved a reduced size image. At this point I usually make another copy of it and work with the second copy.
Once you have your image below 100 kb you can safely upload it to the challenge folder in the photo section of the group. Once you have done that, a thumbnail of your pic should appear. Click on that and along the top above the pic there is a button that says "full size" - click on that and again along the top it will give you the option of deleting the full size only. Click on that and follow the instructions. Once it has deleted the full size only it will return you to the thumbnails pictures in the folder.
